We discovered the LG Optimus Slider by Virgin Mobile while seeking out some of the latest and greatest smartphones to feature. Android smartphones have become popular in the last couple of years, possibly because the age of technology has taken over, and consumers want the best gadgets available. Unfortunately, Android devices often come at a price — literally! Many wireless providers charge a premium data feature fee for customers who have an Android device. So what is the solution to these fees?

The LG Optimus Slider Prepaid Phone by Virgin Mobile made the list of great Android smartphone for the folks here at Android Chatter, because it isn’t as devastating to the bank account as some of the other high end models being offered up by major wireless providers. The LG Optimus Slider by Virgin Mobile is a great Android smartphone, with some awesome features, and since it is prepaid, it doesn’t carry all the extra premium data fees along with it. No baggage!

Now on to the good stuff! Not that saving money isn’t good, but we speak of the bells and whistles on the LG Optimus Slider by Virgin Mobile. The device sound has vibration, MP3 and WAV ringtones. Additionally LG Optimus Slider sports a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm jack for ear buds. The LG Optimus memory is internal with 512 MB of Ram 512 MB of ROM, and it has a microSD slot expandable memory up to 32 GB, which comes in handy for storing that extensive music library, photos, videos and other files. Don’t lie… you know you have all that on your Android phone!

Speaking of photos, the LG Optimus Slider has a 3.2 MP, with 2048 x 1536 pixels, complete with Geo-tagging and video capabilities. Though considered an entry level smartphone, it’s nice because it can be prepaid through Virgin Mobile’s plan.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 5 features news and gossip have been quite the topic on the WWW of late. Do these two 2012 smartphone releases have what it takes to be named the best of the best? We’ll see… but its likely the Galaxy S3 will grace the world with its presence long before the iPhone 5 makes a big splash on scene. By then, its likely Android groupies will have moved on to a bigger, bolder, faster, and overall snazzier mobile handset.

After all, in the world of technology — especially mobile related technology — out with the old occurs on a seemingly daily basis.

Now for specs! Samsung finally quashed the highly circulating rumors which said the Samsung Galaxy S3 would include3D technology. They actually released a statement about not having plans for any 3D technology in upcoming smartphones. Oh well, one can dream… right? As far as other specs, Samsung is again keeping things mostly under wraps, but all the speculation has lead to some pretty good guesses at what may be in store.

The rumors run rampart with possible specs including, a 4.65-inch screen with a resolution of 720×1,280, a Super AMOLED Plus display,  a 1.5GHz chip with 2GB RAM, a 12-mp camera, and an exterior much like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Also, it will apparently have  Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the OS.

Perhaps Samsung will soon, at the very least, confirm some specs for all the consumers who are awaiting the Samsung Galaxy S3 release date.

So when exactly will the iPhone 5 release date be announced? Thus far Apple has said nothing about the device. It seems likely if a new smartphone is released by the big A, it won’t be until 4th quarter 2012. They seem to like to boost in sales during the holiday shopping season. Not to mention the fact that it finishes out their year strong.

Apple iPhone 4S 16GB – AT&T – Black

That is the opening line on the statement released on the Apple website after news broke that former CEO Steve Jobs had passed away. People flooded Twitter to post their thoughts, but the site was soon so unstable that many could not gain access. Twitter has been intermitantantly working since the breaking news of Mr. Jobs passing away.

Steve Jobs said: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

So true! Rest in Peace Steve Jobs.

The new tablet from Amazon will feature apps, books, movies and music! Sound like a sweet deal. This may not be the best news for consumers who recently shelled out money for the last Kindle that was released. Surely those customers feel burned. It never fails that when money is spent, something better always arrives two minutes later.

At any rate, customers who’ve been itching to get their hands on the 4G dual-core Android device can head over to their nearest Verizon Retailer annd snap up a shiny Droid Bionic all for their very own.

There are some mixed feelings about the Droid Bionic release date. A lot of folks seemed to give up when Motorola announced the Bionic would be delayed, but true Android and Motorola fans stuck around while true Android, but not so much Motorola fans jumped ship and bought other handsets, like the Samsung Droid Charge.

Perhaps Verizon and Motorola went ahead and pushed the Droid Bionic release date since the Samsung Galaxy S II release date is coming up on September 16th. Which device would you rather have?

With the Bionic delay, many who were interested in the device have moved on to other handsets, and the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic may benefit greatly from this. While the Droid Bionic does still have a loyal following, the Galaxy S II Epic seems like a great phone with specs that are likely to give the Bionic some nice competition.

The Sprint Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch has a 4.52-inch Super-AMOLED+ screen with WVGA 800×480 resolution, which may be a disappointment to some techies. In addition to the large screen, the Epic 4G touch has the Exynos 4210 SoC, which includes a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and an ARM-Mali 400MP GPU. The handset also packs in 1GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory.

The handset has both a front 2MP camera for video chatting, and an 8MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash also records videos in 1080p Full HD resolution. Some of the standard features include, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, microSD card slot, FM radio, GPS with A-GPS, MHL port and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will come with AES-256 internal/external hardware encryption and Wi-Fi calling. The handset also supports Sprint’s WiMAX network, and is powered by an 1800mAh battery.

Last but not least… the Android smartphone will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4.0. You thought we forgot that part, didn’t you?

So unless there is another design change, or unexpected issue — Android fans will be able to flood their Verizon Wireless store’s and pick up the device within the next month.
